Cookie policy

Last updated: October 26, 2026

Cookies are small files that a website saves in your browser. Websites can also use the browser's local storage. Below is everything Teachify saves on your device, and why.

1. Strictly necessary cookies

  • sb-…-auth-token (Supabase Auth): keeps you signed in, so you do not have to sign in on every page. It is removed when you sign out and expires after at most 400 days;
  • NEXT_LOCALE: remembers the language you chose (Romanian or English). It is only set if you choose a language different from your browser's, and it is removed when you close the browser;
  • hCaptcha cookies: if bot protection is enabled, hCaptcha may set cookies on its own domain when you fill in the sign-in forms, to tell people from automated programs.

2. Local storage

  • theme: the theme you chose (light, dark or system);
  • pwa-install-dismissed: remembers that you closed the invitation to install the app, so you do not see it again;
  • the app cache (service worker): the page shown when you are offline and the site's static files (code, styles, icons), for faster loading. It does not contain pages with your data or any personal data.

3. What we do not use

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, or social media pixels. If you sign in with Google, Google may set its own cookies on its domains, under Google's policy.

4. Why we do not ask for consent

Everything above is either strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for (signing in, protecting forms) or remembers a choice you made explicitly (language, theme, closing the invitation). The law (Art. 4(5) of Romanian Law 506/2004 and Art. 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC) does not require consent for these, so we do not show a cookie banner. If we ever add cookies that are not necessary, we will ask for your consent first.

5. How to control them

You can view and delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. Deleting the sign-in cookie signs you out; clearing local storage resets the theme and language to their defaults.
